Hello, I’m Meg. In April 2020, I followed my dream and purchased 4.3 acres (1.75 hectares) of bare land in Central Hawkes Bay.

And I mean BARE!

No house, no services, no trees to speak of, and virtually no grass – I bought during the worst drought the region had seen in 23 years!

So many wonderful people (friends, family, acquaintances, and even complete strangers) have offered their advice, time, energy, and elbow-grease to help plant native trees, build a wetland, clean up the streams, and rehabilitate the land that I wanted a way to keep our supporters up to date with progress and with what’s happening … and how to join in the fun and be part of the Lamplight Cottage Rehabilitation Project.
